FRAZER ASHFORD - CLARKSDALE, MISSISSIPPI,USA 2007
Hi
During the late 1970's and the early 1980's I gained a reputation for my imaginative rock and theatre photography. My subjects included such legends as Charlie Chaplin, Gene Pitney, The New Seekers, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Elton John and Dr Hook with many pictures being seen in newspapers, magazines and books as well as being featured in one-man exhibitions around the UK and America.
In 1983 I hung up my cameras and stored all the negatives away from view. Now, 25 years later, I have re-discovered my original 100,000 + negative archive. By taking advantage of the latest digital technology, I am able to scan and print selected images in order to allow me to exhibit and offer for sale my best pictures, many of which are being shown publicly for the first time.
As well as turning the archives into prints and artwork, I have also started taking pictures again after a 25-year gap. This time I am mainly turning my attention to landscapes.
